Art.com comic art
Hey,
I figured I would make a post regarding Art.com's pretty large selection of comic art. They have a huge amount and it can literally take days to look through all of it so I figured I would start a post where people could post up some of thier favorite prints available there.
Art.com does have a limited edition section, with a rather larger variety of prints, but I have never seen any comic related prints in that section so its pretty irrelevant to this discussion. Maybe someone could do another post for any interesting limited editions offered by Art.com. I wanted to focus on comic art for this thread. I am not a big open edition fan, but they have a lot of great comic prints that aren't available anywhere else so in those kinds of cases, I am open to buying open editions.
Art.com offers 3 kinds of prints, regular poster prints, Giclee prints, and stretched canvas prints. The regular poster prints are inexpensive, but they are not archival and nowhere near as nice as the giclee prints. The Giclee prints are mid priced (16x24 or 18x24 prints are $59.99). The stretched canvas prints are definitely more expensive with sizes like 13x20 being $79.99.
Its important to note that art.com has regular sales that are usually 35% to 45% off so never pay full price for Art.com prints. Just wait a week or two and you will find a sale. So really you should be able to buy 16x24 or 18x24 giclee prints in the $32.99 to $39.99 price range.
Here are some of my favorites that I have ordered thus far:

Yes, its licensed material. With the DC prints, you can see the DC logo in the bottom left corner. The prints are sold out of Art.com and no, the artists are not credited on the print itself. All it has is the small DC Comics Logo on the bottom left corner of the print. I actually prefer the DC prints to the Marvel prints as they have a white border. Most of the Marvel prints are printed right to the edge and hence have no white border. White borders are mandatory in my book when it comes to prints, but I still order some of the marvel prints here and there as they do have a great selection.
