Call Me By Your Name (2017) - In Northern Italy in 1983, seventeen year-old Elio begins a relationship with visiting Oliver, his father's research assistant, with whom he bonds over his emerging sexuality, their Jewish heritage, and the beguiling Italian landscape.

Luca Guadagnino has become one of my favorite directors of the last ten years. He has another winner here with this very touching romance. And Italy as usual looks incredibly beautiful--as does Armie Hammer, my goodness. 9/10

The Shape of Water (2017) - In a 1960s research facility, a lonely janitor forms a unique relationship with a strange, amphibious creature that is being held in captivity.

Love Guillermo del Toro, love Sally Hawkins so I would have been surprised if this movie was anything less than stellar. And stellar it was--and surprisingly sensual. Yowza. 10/10

A Ghost Story (2017) - 7/10

The first 20 minutes or so really tested my patience - lots of drawn-out scenes, dead space, and a general lack of *anything* - but the story eventually picked up and went in a direction that I didn't expect. Creepy but not scary, and an interesting take on what it means to be a ghost.

Valerian and the city of a Thousand planets -7/10
Visual are spectacular but casting for the two main leads was a disaster . I kinda liked the movie though. You can see Luc Besson did pour some love into it , it has some great moments and could have pulled off a nice franchise with some good casting. I mean why the hell does the Lead look like a f$&kin boy?

And for the love of God can Rihanna NOT be in any movies ,she sucks!

The studios probably couldn't afford to pay for a better male lead after budgeting for the special effects
