Unnumbered unsigned statue - what does it all mean?

So, one of my all-time favorite statues, the original Aphrodite IX, I noticed is unnumbered and unsigned. I emailed a bit with Shelley Moore on the subject but didn't get much clarity, other than it must have been given or sold without permission, as an AP most likely, due to Moore always at least signing his statues.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Anyone out there with unnumbered and unsigned Moore pieces? This has gotten me very curious.

I have a couple of unnumbered pieces, or numbered 'zero' pieces from Clay. Mine are original counter samples not APs. Don't know if that helps.

Are they signed? Numbered 0 or actually left blank? Thanks.

Signed. Numbered '0'. I have and Angelus, Dawn, and a red dress Dark Ivory (unfortunately now damaged) like this.

Any speculation in regards to what my statue's story might be? Is an unnumbered, unsigned statue hopeless to try and sell? We're moving and I'm going to have to get rid of some of my statues and this statue is on that list. It's beautiful and of this negatively affect the price then I'll just keep it. What do you guys think?

APs are usually signed especially with Clay's work but the Original AIX was released a long time ago now, so I don't know whether he was signing them back then, but if Shelley said he was, I guess he was. I think they are numbered when they arrive at CS Moore so I can only speculate it was stolen between arriving in the US and arriving at Clay's. Who knows, it may be an unregistered AP! TBH, if it's a flawless piece I would just keep it.

I appreciate the feedback, thanks. I'll put it up and see what it goes for as we're moving and there's just so much you can have on display. It really is a fantastic piece tho. We'll see. Thanks!
