Heroescon Pickups thanks to Anthony aka Behold Gravitas

Big thanks to my jam partner in crime Anthony for the great pickups at Heroes this year! Thanks to him I managed to accomplish two goals for the year - close out my 2014 open commissions and finish off a jam.

A couple of Alessandro Micelli pickups. I really enjoy his work and look forward to him hitting it big someday.

Yes you do! He loves Planet Hulk and I am sure would knock it out of the park to add to your book. I wonder how long his prices will be half of what the others at the ES tables are (not long IMO).

That's exactly why I'm kicking myself for not getting something from him at Heroes when I had the chance!

I started up a conversation with him and found out that he loved the Hulk so I asked to see where he had drawn the Hulk in the past and he showed me a few examples. I had already decided to get something before I realized his pricing. Once he is published in a major title he will double in price (which is still a good price IMO)

yeah, he's pretty talented with a quirky energetic style. he does big guys great! if you can believe it, he was doing name your price commissions a couple years ago - found him via a gift from my buddy cam.

Super nice guy in addition to being a great artist. We enjoyed chatting with him at his table several times as my son and I stopped by throughout the weekend. He really enjoyed seeing my son and I share our love for all things comic related and he said he hopes to have the same with a son some day. I can't recommend hitting up Alessandro enough if you get the chance, especially because I don't think he does a lot of US shows (he lives in Italy).

Alessandro is a great guy and I'm already kicking myself for not getting more from him @Heroes! I did bring him his favorite American beer...so maybe he'll remember me next time he's stateside at a con I'm attending!
