I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I finished my latest project, Frankenstein's monster as depicted by acclaimed illustrator Bernie Wrightson. The statue kit stands about 17" tall on his cobblestone base. In 1983 Marvel Comics published a comics version of the famed novel with period style pen & inks. The 50 or so illustrations themselves are not based upon the Boris Karloff or Lee films, but on the actual book's descriptions of characters and objects as written by Mary Shelley. Wrightson, a native of Dundalk, MD, passed in 2017 at the age of 68. Famous for his long career in drawing horror comics, he was also a co-creator of the DC character Swamp Thing with writer Len Wein. I added him to my growing collection of stuff I've assembled & painted myself. Thanks for looking!

Just added this 1/4 scale Alex Ross kit to the collection (#29/40). Three heads, two belts, two emblems. And gargoyles. Mini gargoyles.
Time to go to work.

I don't work very fast because spare time is a rare commodity... probably 2-3 weeks or so. Easier than most because it's really well put together and there's not a lot of color variety, not a lot of masking, etc. I won't get to start it for another week or so.

Skin tones are hard, dudes. I don't consider myself very good at it yet and I'm lucky it looks as good as it does.
