I would avoid Xbids and any sites like it. There is a chance that you can get a good deal on something, but it's more likely that you will spend money and come away with zip. Basically the way these sites work is that you have to buy bid credits and each bid costs a certain amount like, say 75 cents. So every time you hit the "bid" button it costs you money. Sure the cost of the item only went up a penny or whatever, but it cost YOU 75 cents. You may put 100 bids on an item, but if you were not the most determined person willing to stick it out to the end, you would walk away with nothing but a $75 sucker stamp on your forehead. These sites make LOTS of money on the folks that DON'T win the auctions.
