I believe he's describing how the base was sculpted, not how it's casted. If they worked down the base with a lathe for every one that'd be a lot of work

I was describing how the original master sculpture was created. The base and the torso are all molded together as one piece. It is cast with a rotocast machine, making it hollow but very sturdy and not top heavy at all.

A sculpture this large that is cast solid would create a ton of heat as the resin cures and ends up burning out molds really quick and making them tear. It also saves customers money on shipping because of the lighter weight.

The next Arhian bust will also have no arms or head... or stomach.

OH WOW! GREAT! Can't wait to get a huge bust loosely based on Gerard Butler Leonidas or Brad Pitt Achilles! If the 1/4 Scale pieces are anything to go by its a home run!!
