He must be indebted to Brad Pitt for something because I cannot see him wanting to do this film. Or they never actually intend to have him do it, but it's more of a marketing ploy to get some other directors interested in the job.
I so hope this happens. I loved WWZ and Fincher is one of my personal favorite directors. I'm sure with Pitt producing he'll have the creative freedom to deliver something great.
