I read the Exiled story it was simply OK for me. I think I'm getting bored with Kid Loki stories and with Fraction's MIGHTY THOR book pretty much suckin since the 1st arc Thor books are not doing it for me right now.

I hadn't heard anything about these editions, so it was a nice surprise at the shop today. I suppose there are better deals out there, but I had some credit at the LCS, so why not?

Thanks for the info.

That's the version I call the manga sized version.

What I don't undertand is why they did not just release this in normal size tpb?

The art is too awesome for such a tiny format.

Aha, gotcha. I just realized this was released several months ago.

Yeah, I tried reading it last night and it made my head hurt. Art and text are too small, and too much of the page is "in the gutter."

I remember when Eagle Comics brought Dredd to the US in the '80s in a standard-size US format. I don't understand why we can't get something like that again. I'm not a fan of the oversized UK editions, but these digests are ridiculous.

also went and grabbed Justice League Dark #9. Got great reviews since Jeff Lemire took over the book

I like standard sized TPBs/HCs and oversized. Definetly not smaller.

The only exception are the Dark Horse Star Wars Omnibus TPBs I have 2 at the moment but plan on buying more. I like those even though they are a bit on the small side.

Both the Batman and Spider-Man annuals were pretty disappointing.

The Animal Man was as well, though it furthur established the Rot vs Red storyline going through Animal Man and Swamp Thing books . It was OK filler

Joe....How important is the Bat Annual to the larger Court of Owls storyline.
