Both looked good I preferred the white and black one. They're somewhere on this thread within the last 5 months. Or he might have made a new thread about it. I'm on my phone though so it would be a pain to find. Search keywords on the search function see if you can find it.

Well I hope you find the kit you're looking for.

I guess what I was getting at, is that the Japanese kits aren't exactly my thing..... But.

Street Fighter has many interpretations.

From SF1-SF4 you've got 100 different stylistic takes on these characters.

From Udon to Malibu comics. From Pocket fighter to SVC Chaos.

From Play Arts Kai to NECA and Sota.

You get my point.

There is room for many different flavors of Street Fighter.

I think this line does a fine job of representing SF in its own style.

Edit: For the record, I also love the Alpha and 3 series artwork.

And have to wonder if you've owned the M.Bison piece, or any Street Fighter pieces?

Because you can only tell so much from a picture.

I'd also like to note, it's the 50% game 50% artistic realism that draws most of us to this line.

We could all go buy Japanese models that look 100% game accurate. IMO, this is MUCH better.

Jerry captures the essence of the character, then takes it to a whole new level with highly detailed muscle and mixed media.

I have several Street Fighter statues in my collection. And a few Grails. And M.Bison is still near the top of my favorites.

His mixed media, especially the cape! Is fantastic. The material could have been thicker.... Sure. But if you don't point a flashlight at it, it's not going to be an issue.

Furthermore, his boots look amazing, and I enjoy his various display options.

So, that's my POV. Couldn't we knit pick all kinds of stuff on every statue?
I have indeed owned the M. Bison PF, along with the Ken Ex., Guile Ex., Zangief Reg., Shin Akuma bust and the Ryu vs. Sagat Dio Ex.

I have sold all of them and made a mint

Here is my take on the lack of uniformity -

Akuma, Ryu, Ken, and especially Sagat (Looks nearly identical to the in-game model from SF4) have a very anime / Capcom art feel to them.

Guile, M. Bison, Chun-Li and Alex all have a hyper-realism look to them, and they don't match well with the others IMO.

Zangief and Dhalsim (From the pictures I've seen), are some what of a blend of the two styles.

Vega just looks weird. Especially the maskless face.

Personally I would much rather have faithful interpretations of the characters that I grew up with from a small boy. I'm not saying the PCS pieces are bad or anything, they just don't do it for me.

To each their own. I respect your opinion. But again, humbly disagree...

For example, My top shelf has...

Chun Li (Repaint) Sagat (Ex) And Ryu (Reg)

Sculpted years apart. By three different sculptors. And I feel they look great together.

And most of the statues that you say are faithful to their SF4 appearance came out before SF4. Guess it's a coincidence?

I'm also not sure I think Ryu, Akuma or Ken look a darn thing like their SF4 model.

Ryu and Akuma are realistic (except for Akuma's face). And Ken is based off of SF3 artwork.(Akuma is based on a bodybuilder).

In the end, is suppose we'll agree to disagree.

I just meant Sagat looks nearly identical to his SF4 model. Not Akuma, Ryu or Ken. Although the Akuma 1/4 was designed by Alvin Lee (The design can be found in his first art book release Nix and Scratches Vol. 1 - The print that was included was also done by Alvin). I wouldn't say Ryu or Akuma look realistic, but far more anime. Guile and Bison look the most "realistic" IMO.

I agree good sir. Agree to disagree.

Good bout though

some interesting points raised on the likeness and what era of characters from the SF universe are based on the PCS pieces.

Good bout.

We all love Street Fighter. That's all that matters in the end.

P.S. I know Akuma is based on Alvin Lee's work. But Jerry used a bodybuilder as his reference for the muscle sculpt.

I cannot remember which one... Maybe someone who remembers can chime in.

Haha enjoyed reading you guys duke it out, but yeah in the end it comes down to everyone's personal taste.

I'm not only into the Japanese kits, I like anything that Portrays the capcom style (well).

For me the only pcs statue that has done that so far is the sagat.
That's not to say the others are crap, they just lack that capcom vibe in anatomy and Portraits.

Think some of the others could be greatly improved with different head sculpts.
This is just my opinion, not lookin to start any arguments .
