Hey Rod,
Sorry to hear about that mate
I do recall a similar incident with Jon Sommariva, when a seller on ebay had taken some of his original art images and made t-shirts and prints without Jon's knowledge and selling them, and I think they were claiming that they were their on design.....

Anyway mate, you can send me pics of every new piece you get so I can at least enjoy them with you
And of course I will see them when I pop around to your place next time

I can see both sides on this.

On the one hand something you own being copied and sold without being asked or compensated is horrible.

On the other hand I only really see it as something the artist themself should be angered by.

You yourself after all aren't the one losing potential money, but the artist who made it is.

If someone bootlegs something you own and it doesn't affect you is it really something to get angry about?

It's in the same level essentially of when I found a commission I've had done on someone's site for a character bio and used it as an example of why the character isn't that great. At least sort of.

You don't share your art anymore because you want us to buy copies of it from pirates in order to see it. That's cold Rod. Just Plain Cold.

For the record guys. neither Rocket nor the artists hold any rights to the art in question. Marvel does. Legally, that commission itself is an infringement on copy written characters. Marvel turns a blind eye when artists do this for fans or to make extra scratch at a con.... They don't turn a blind eye however when someone starts making unofficial swag from these commissions and profiting from it. You want this auction shut down? Report it to be ebay for copy right infringement and report the seller to marvel as I'm sure this isn't the only unofficial image they're printing up.

Just my 2 cents on the matter.

What is funny to me is that when all is said and done, all this seller is offering is to print out a copy of the piece. Something anyone looking at the auction could do at home with their own printer. Maybe he/she prints to a larger size but most people have access to Staples et al

Sorry this hs happened to you Rod. I can understand the irritation.
