If a 10 is perfect a 5 is average, not an 8. Sounds like your 8's are more like 5-6's. But if you want to rate them an 8 thats fine, its your rating. The only problem with doing that is you're not accurately reflecting your opinion of the film (score wise) to everyone here if the gap between mediocre and perfect is only 2 points.
