Hey guys....I know it's been dead in here for a long time....maybe this will spark up some new Conversations....

I am getting the itch to open up a Comic Shop in my area...there is nothing really around in Westchester...I have Tons, of Statues, toys, baseball cards Comics Etc...like most of us do. Anyway of course the biggest obstacle is $$$ for new items and displays..Does anyone know of a small business grant or anything that might help other then the typical bank loan? I have 4 schools ( K- college) in walking distance from the location I am thinking of, also the metro north Train station is less then 4 blocks...so I think it's a prime spot...

Let me know your thoughts...if it happens you guys will always be welcome V.I.P's... all day everyday...thanks guys.

Sweet! I always wanted to do that!

I would go for it - though stand alone comic shops are risky, I think perhaps adding an online component to what you offer could help your shop be more competitive. Also, think of ways your shop could be different (Magic the Gathering battles, pokies, porn), anything to get the people in.

I always wanted to open a comic shop that also sold beer. Seemed like it would be a fun thing to do...drinks and comics...
