Steve Rude (The Dude) Needs Your Help!
Just read that Steve Rude is trying to stave off selling his home due to economic circumstances. This was posted to Comicart-L by Michael Jackson:
"S.O.S. - Help Steve Rude keep his house
Hey Guys,
Sorry for the dramatic headline but it really
is appropriate.
Like everyone else, Steve has been effected by
the economic downturn, so much so that his house
will be up for auction November 15th.

In an effort to stave off the foreclosure,
Steve has put up pages from The Next Nexus mini-
series on eBay at really low prices. Pages from
issues #1 and #2 are already up on eBay and issues
#3 and #4 will up in a week or two.

Link to Steve's store where all the issues as
well as other art are shown.

There's a lot of pages with the main characters
left as well as plenty of pages with his fantastic
shaceship designs (they are so very cool.)
His commission list is temporarily closed until
he whittles down his backlog a bit but will be
opened back up shortly.
Thanx,
Michael"
Hopefully the sales will help Steve out! Best,
Royd

Isn't there a Batman B&W statue based on one of his designs?
If he opened up for commissions I'm sure he would get a ton of them as long as he doesn't over price them.

There is indeed (although I never knew it until reading your post) and there's also a Catwoman (in Underdog/Bill's fave costume) -

As for commissions, according to the post, Steve is trying to finish off outstanding commissions and will hopefully soon be taking new requests. It's worth a look at his Facebook page and eBay store (links above). Best,
Royd

I think he hated doing that statue. I contacted Steve a while back and he refused to do another Catwoman in that costume, telling me he would only draw here in the tight leather costume.

Hmmmm, maybe he might be willing to re-consider? Just a thought.

The King of Pop had an art collection that we could only dream of.

If he is that much in the hole, selling some art is not going to get him out of it, unless his name was Terry Austin.
