Just chatted with Lea at Sideshow and she told me: „No, the piece is not finished and can not be shipped yet. I can assure you, you will be notified once she's ready.\“

I haven't even pre-ordered the EX yet. Been hoarding reward points just for this. Also that crazy edition size gives me time to make it through the Holidays before I grab the EX which I don't think is going anywhere for a while.

As a big fan of this piece I was a big promoter on my soapbox.

Harbottle showed us all what his true talent of the female sculpt can do. He is truly my favorite and a master. Just go and google his pieces and be amazed!

I can spot some differences in the face from proto to production and after receiving Rebel Terminator and in hand versus production pictures, I am skeptically optimistic.

If the piece comes out like production photos, I will be pleased. If they come out looking anything like the proto, there will be jizz in my pants.

Thanks for reading!

Proto vs Production - it's amazing how much the yellow light improves the image.
As good as the production paint appears to be, there's no denying how great the prototype portrait paint app looks.

The proto is being carefully lit to yield the most dramatic still imagery.

The production piece is being lit primarily for an instructional video.

Some fine detail will probably get softened in the production pieces, but in the case of the fingers, I'm wondering if the painter on the proto went in with any kind of line wash, or something like that, to punch up the finger demarcations. I could be wrong, but I think there may be a little more than simply lighting at play there.

The proto's left fingers were simply much better sculpted, period.

The ring finger is especially atrocious. It's much thinner than the other fingers, which exaggerates the webbing even more.

My attention was drawn to the hand also. The prototype looks superior. It might be the fault of the image, but the production hand appears to have much paint filling the gaps between the fingers.
