Bowen Batman

Can someone provide the dimensions of the full size Bowne Batman ? Is it 10 inches or 13 inches. Were the knockoffs the same size or different ?

You might want to put this in the Bowen Section.

The tallest point is a little bump on the right shoulder, that measures 9-7/8". The knock off's are recast's , so their the same size. The difference is the paint job and the material used (hollow really light fakes). If you want to see more pics, mine(real) is up on ebay. Search cjd350.

Recasts are usually smaller (5%-10%) due to shrinkage on the new castings. The details are sometimes poorer but it's usually not signficant. If you place a knockoff next to an original casting, you can usually see a difference in size and quality.

Also, the knockoffs tend to weigh less, as Frinky mentioned - this is due to a lower density (and lower quality) resin on the knockoffs.

The bronze one is almost 12" tall, including the marble base.

I think the neck is longer on the bronze as well, not sure why?

the best way to see if it's a recast is look at the bottom, the recasts tend to be solid while the orginal ones have a plug in it, meaning square shaped hole.

I think the neck is shorter on the bronze. If I remember correctly, Randy said that when he sent his sculpture/casting to be mass produced for production, that the neck broke and the guy who repaired it made the neck way too long, so all the produced statues had long necks. Later on when the bronze was made, the neck length was corrected.

I compared my regular Batman statue to pics of a Batman bronze, and the bronze does appear to have a shorter neck, but it's not signfigantly shorter. In some of the pics the neck length looks about the same as on the regular statue.

The neck on the regular statue looks a bit long, so it wouldn't make sense for Graphitti Designs to make it even longer on the bronze - the neck length would go from abmormally long (regular statue) to freakishly long (bronze). Based on the pics that I saw, the neck on the bronze is not longer than on the regular statue.

Evidently there is a recast on ebay now from Malaysia. It has no number and the ears appear to be rounded rather than pointed .

I can confirm that the statues have necks that are way too long. As for the height, it's about the same as the new DCD Dynamics.
