Particular Mark III. No love for that.

Gun Metal version of Mark III- pretty high

One thing I would say it's that, it looks like most of the women figures are not doing so well in the 2ndary market. Not much resale value. Not even Black Widow. Very low prices. I bought some of the ladies like Silk Spectre II, Silken Floss.
If they issue Nick Fury then the Black Widow will go up in price. They would look very cool together!

I think with the release of the New Mark II, the old one may continue to appreciate, but the new one will also appreciate based on its own merits. Because the new Mark II has additional 'features' such as the exposed armor, the forearm plates that can open up, Rhode's head, armor plates to cover back up the exposed areas, and a new base. I think it looks better than the old one.

I think I really want to pull the trigger on this one. Not only because of its looks(I always loved the Mark II scene in the first Iron Man movie), but somehow, people are crazy about Hot Toys Iron Man pieces.

...and with HT constantly improving their product.

Perfect examples are the Batman (original suit) and Iron Man (various marks) pieces.

I don't see any scenario in which the IM pieces retain their value if newer, superior versions of the same character are being produced. Why would anyone pay more for the original MK2 than they would for that fantastic new MK2 which looks every bit as good as the original with a slew of sweet new features and accessories?

I have the Takara Batman Begins piece and it used to go for 3-4x more than retail....until interest was lost and new versions were done. Same thing goes for the MJ dolls which the current one on the market scorches the resale market and the older ones drop like a stone. With the MJ ones as well HT's pieces have gotten progressively better with each sculpt.

As Carrillj said there are a ton of recast parts from the original molds that will erode the value of these pieces.

I collect HT and while they are incredibly detailed and super cool with lots of accessories and great pose-abilities, I agree that their aftermarket prices are somewhat inflated. I pre-ordered most of my stuff, so thank God I haven't had to pay those ridiculous prices.
