That was actually one of the goals of the devs this time. If you haven't seen the new strategies the AI has yet I won't spoil it. In combination with the new mechanics like being invaded while hollow and losing a % of your maximum health if you die while hollow this is gonna be brutally hard the first run.

also I will encourage everyone to watch out for the collectors edition guide for DS2 put together by Future Press.
They did an amazing job on the first games guide...in an age where game guides are largely irrelevant thanks to the internet, they put so much heart and soul into that first guide. I enjoyed just flipping through it and seeing all the detailed information. This isn't like your typical crappy guide from other companies. Give it a shot and you won't be disappointed
The other good thing is that if you don't enjoy it, since their guides have such small print runs, you can flip it for anywhere from 2-4x your purchase price

I wouldn't be so quick to buy the guide. The Dark Souls 1 guide is pretty useless now as a lot of items have changed values and locations. In the current era of patching, and the live wiki, guides are all but useless IMO. I'm hoping for an epic art book for this though, I'd be all over that.

I didn't use the guide as a "guide". I read it for all the info they poured into it. It doubled as an art book as well. It was the holy grail of guide books

The second and third contest winners were announced, really wish I had known about this, I would have given it a shot. In any case the winners so far have nice designs and they fit into the universe rather well.
