Are you talking about your 401(k)? If you borrow from your account, your deductions each paycheck include repayment and interest (to yourself). Makes sense - only thing you really lose is the compounding power of investments but with the markets these days, it's not necessarily a loss. Now the question is, are you borrowing money from yourself to stash under your mattress?

If YOU have enough money to loan yourself, why would you need to borrow money from YOURSELF to begin with?
If it's from an IRA or 401k or something like that then sure, sounds good to me, otherwise I don't get it.

I see no immediate problem from this type of relationship with yourself.....but be careful....next thing you know you will be asking yourself over for dinner...cooking a nice meal....drinking some red wine....moving things to the couch and listening to some Barry White...and one thing can EASILY lead to another from there!

The birthing process for a man is a painful endeavour; women don't have it nearly as rough as we do.

How do you borrow something that you already own?

In Lord Odin's defense....I often do something similar to this.
If I have money earmarked for something special that I am saving for....say an adamantium membership at Statue Forum....and I happen to see an action figure at the store..but my allocated action figure fund for the month is dry. I will "borrow" from my monies allocated for other things and make it a priority to replace it before I purchase any other action figures.
I'm with you Odin! In both this AND the fact that the world is horribly overpopulated!
