just one thing i'm confused about, why did you taylor it for a 1:6th scale model? wouldn't doing it for a 1:3 scale model make more sense? (or am I missing something obvious )

I believe the piece of fabric shown is the sample. The 1:6 scale figure is present for size reference only.

correct, it was just to show size and the quality of the design opposed to others that have been replicated.
