Unfortunate wording. It's a well known phrase that if used to describe any other nationality would not have caused any concern.

Okay...I couldnt help but LOL when I read that...

Seriously...isn't it a bit of an overreaction to play the race card on this given that it is such a well known term and the most unracist thing to do is to use it for any circumstance it properly describes regardless of the color of the people involved in said circumstance????

I take it you think this mistake by ESPN is worthy of reaction by Asian American groups because obviously it was intended as a racial slur against them?

Gah... will it undoubtedly upset some people? Yes.. but it's the same headline we've all seen a billion times regarding an African American or Caucasian player. Should the writer have "known better", though? Yes. Error or otherwise, I'm surprised editors didn't pick up on it. Some sort of reprimand will undoubtedly take place.

Being human, when I first read it.. I laughed.
