I have 450 short boxes and about 20 magazine boxes. Short boxes work well on moving/carrying them. As I purchase new books I keep 3 short boxes up in my bedroom. 1 marvel, 1 dc, 1 independant. Once they fill I mark the lid "2018 Marvel" etc. Then it gets stored in my basement. All of my "old stuff" is collated in order and title with boxes labeled , for example, "World's Finest I" etc...if i pick up collections and have to add I have made minus numbers less than zero so I didnt have to shift every box to fill with books. I have been sending books off in runs to be graded which empties boxes but quickly gets replaced with new books. The never ending cycle that is awesome and dreadful at the same time. I'm 48 and think I will do new books though my 50th year then call it quits on new books and concentrate on culling and shrinking my collection to 9.8 graded keys, sentimental books ( ungraded to enjoy) and enjoying ( hopefully) a little extra money to take me to the golden years.
