Thank god I read further down.
It appears the make up brushes are a favorite for getting into the tight areas.
Thanks again for your replies... serious or not.

I think my Chow Chow would really enjoy that.

Isn't wiping dust with paintbrush like running a sponge on a dirty car with dirt...causing invisible scratches under certain lighting?

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I just use sandpaper to scrape it off. Works pretty well.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I too use cosmetic brushes. I looked at house paint brushes but they are nowhere near as soft as a cosmetic brush. I mostly use a blush brush (kind of round looking) but I found one that is more flat and a little harder (don't know what it is used for cosmetic-wise) to get the smaller crevices.
So the dust doesn't re-settle on the statues, I keep the vacuum cleaner hose going underneath where I'm working to suck up the dust as it falls.
As for actually running them under water, the Colorado River water in California has a lot of minerals, etc in it and even blowing it off with a compressor, I'd still be afraid of hard water deposits.

What he said. Plus compressed air used gently and occassionally is a holy thing.

Crom! The size of your balls is quite impressive. The suburbs of Flippingtonsville must not have a water source thick with minerals.
