Simply lazy design on the side of the poster designers. They probably have dozens of different shots to work with when creating the collage of characters for the poster, but they're probably working with some pre-established format and sticking to it.

I can see the point on the poster and there was one scene where we got a close up of her behind. It wasn't really necessary or add to the story but we did get an awesome new character. Who was an equal match to Hunt. Feminists should be happy with that plus Tom got his shirt off.

It's all about marketing data and focus testing. They've probably got research showing certain poses of characters on posters results in greater attention from their target audience for this genre of movie.

She was definitely a strong, independent character who managed to break the stereotype of damsel in distress, so I thoroughly enjoyed watching that storyline unfold.

I'm no prude as my avatar would indicate, but I didn't realize how overtly sexual they portrayed her in the posters, as well as a few others examples. Aside from her behind shot, she is also straddling the motorcycle (as opposed to standing next to it).

It's funny (from a man's point-of-view) of how you see all fronts of the men, but the woman is purposely turned around for the ass shot. I guess the marketing team really know the gist of what makes men think...boobs and ass!

What ya talking about, look at Hulk's smooth backside.

Also, I believe the Thing's legs are facing forward, but with the shading, I can picture him with his ass to us and turning sharply around.

I know. Just messing

I'm usually not too bothered about movie posters but this does stand out a bit as the female character showing her ass just to get guys to go see the movie

And what of it? Please. Like the whole outfit or even her inclusion in the movie at all wasn't targeted at attraction. I didn't even think she was attractive. Go ahead and cover her up in a snow suit for the whole movie as far as I care.

Is he jealous? Don't have to be gay to realize Simon Pegg isn't exactly a looker.

Unless it is the actress herself complaining and even then only if she didn't have a clue what the studio was going for, no one has any place yapping about it.
