Need Help With Broken Ss Sculpt

I'm sculpting a figure in SS. I've baked in 2X so far. For some reason, one leg cracked all the way around and filling it with more SS is impossible(You can still see the crack). Does anyone know what material (putty?) to use to fix this? Thanks.

Hi Sculptguy:

You've got to scrape out the Super Sculpey you used to fill in the gap in the first place, next you need to secure the crack with a good quality cyanoacrylate glue (otherwise known by its trade name, Super Glue) and then fill in the crack with a two-part epoxy putty like Magic Sculpt, wait until it sets and sand smooth.

Great! Thanks for the advice. The crack is just a hairline crack around the thigh, so I guess I'll have to crave out a hole in order to get the glue and epoxy in there. Thanks again.

Glad I could help. Oh, and by the way, be sure to sand down the super glue immediately after you apply it, before it becomes too hard to blend in with the surrounding area.
