It may be for the best and then revisit the concept once the franchise has developed in a slower more methodical manner. ASM2's story being leveraged to facilitate a leap towards a Sinister Six and Universe building was apparent. Ironically it ultimately hurt the franchise as can be seen by this rumor and the status of ASM3.

Two additional great Garfield Spidey films, with strong character development, and then perhaps look at a Sinister Six type film would be my suggestion.

A shame IMHO as most of the S6, Kraven in particular, are deserving of being showcased as the primary villain in Spidey films first.
