Hard Hero makes larger statues and they are much more "cartoony" and more of a maquette than the Bowen pieces. In my eyes, the Bowen collection wins hands down. The face, teeth, nails, veins, musculature, swinging punch and base are far superior. But, to each their own.

Oh I agree the original Bowen/Shifflett is awesome, and does have a realism to it that isn't matched by the HH sculpt. But part of the appeal of new sculpts is that they are in fact new. Once the newness wears off it's easier to compare them apples to apples, but I also agree with JS that the newer sculpts are by and large getting better, and that's reason enough to buy newer versions of character sculpts we already own and enjoy. This new HH Hulk is really well done, and definitely worth picking up!

I gotta say, just glancing at just the new Bowen Hulk's face in your Avatar,
it looks like a Manga drawing - like Totoro or Star Blazers or Spirited Away.
I'll be first in line for one still, but there is just something about the over
exaggerated mouth that gives it that Manga proportion. Kinda funky......

Well, we're all waiting to see Randy's modifications but it is true the Hulk's got a big mouth so any open-mouth sculpt is going to reflect that.

Gotta go HH on this one. Never was that much a fan of the original Bowen Hulk.
Now when the new one comes out, post this up again. The decision will be much harder.

Well, part of that decision is what artwork decade you like your Hulk. This HH sculpt went for the 90s look. Randy's looks a bit like the 70s and current version.

Even though I own the BD Gray Hulk, I have to say that there is simply no comparison in the sculpture department when putting it up against HH's Hulk. No Contest. However, I can tell that BD's Hulk is more detailed in the paint department(nails, teeth, etc.) Once again though, HH does not focus so much on details as they go for a more straight comic book representation. With that being said, detailed painting doesn't make a statue better than another, although details give the statue a more realistic look. In terms of sculpt, HH is more massive and better proportioned than BD's. In my opinion, I can't stand the abs on BD's Hulk. It looks like Thor hit him in the chest with mjolnir and made an indentation in his ribs.
