Avengers vs X-Men #1

The story seems ok so far but the artwork is way under par IMO. I am a fan of JR JR, he is certainly a great artist. However, the art in this book is not good. Am I off base here?

I agree - JRJR lost that wow factor a long time ago...

There is no doubt that JRjr's artwork has changed over the years. The one thing he still brings to the table is the fact that the man meets his deadlines....unlike a whole lot of the newer artists that might have more pizzazz!

Sure, the shield would endure the impact as it has, but I dont think that counts for Cap's footing.... it did catch him off guard, so naturally it would have knocked him back.... I mean, depending on the amount of the concussion blast was given, he could level a mountain....

http://marvel.wikia.com/Captain_America's_Shield

"The shield is not only nearly indestructible, but it absorbs a great deal of kinetic energy from impacts because of its Vibranium component. That is why the Hulk and Thor can pound it while Cap is holding it, without simply sending him into the ground or the air."

JRJR draws the worst Iron Man that I probably have ever seen.

I have never been a fan of JRJR's, but I came to accept it over the years.
My feelings towards his style hasn't changed with the change in his style.

So ironic since he was the penciler on Iron Man during the 70s when most people ascribe this wonderful Iron Man era art to Bob Layton, who inked his work.
