Good call. I stand corrected.... but I would still say it caught him off guard and may have lost some footing.... hence the falling back...

I thought those were mainly Bob Layton pencils . JrJr I know drew Iron Man in the late 80's-early 90's for a time. Heck he has drawn everything at one time or another.

It's true. Don Heck, who drew the first Iron Man story, was quite active in his day.

I just looked it up he did pencil 26 issues in the early '80's with Layton inking. Layton did take over pencilling duties after him. He came back and drew the ARMOR WARS 2 arc with Byrne writing.

Used to be a fan of JRJR's art during the 80s (pics below) when it was much more fluid than the blocky, stiff style he has now. Nowadays, sometimes it looks better than others but that may be attributed to the inker/colorist.

Anyways, the first issue of AvX was just ok. Nothing spectacular but I'm hoping the next issue ramps up the story a lot.

Issue # 201 was pencilled by Rick Leonardi

JRJR did a great job when he was on X-Men and on the Spider-Man book but otherwise I have not been the biggest fan of his artwork, even when he was doing the Hulk book.

I sort of liked 24 and 25 - but other than that... big disappointment...

He was in water, which could have something to do with it, but because his blast is concussive force, Cap shouldn't have gone anywhere...

Just one of several reasons why I won't be going to issue 2
