I live in Europe / Romania and I bought this gorgeous sculpture directly from Cinemaquette Collectibles. Just because I wanted it to arrive 2 months faster in Europe, I paid 2410 dollars (statue + shipping + 30% customs duties). I don't know if it was worth the rush, but in the end I can say that it is the most authentic interpretation for T-rex 93 on the Planet. All that means Prime1, or Iron Studios, are just some sculptures that struggle to respect the correct shape of the female T-rex from 93))) I speak knowingly because I also own the entire Set A+B attack diorama from Iron Studios. The version from IS is so Cartoonish ))), unfortunately I only now realized how valuable this sculpture from Elite is. This sculpture from Stan Winston has immense value.

I'm inclined to agree. My opinion on this piece has significantly sweetened since receiving it. I still think the details could be finer and the belly darkened, but the overall feel of the piece is head and shoulders above the other Rexes I've seen. It just looks so natural. The skin folds around the hips and neck, the pink tones around the underside, not to mention the lumbering pose make this feel like a real animal rather than an idealized movie sculpture. I suppose it also helps that my display area has warm, low lighting so that super-bright belly is less offensive.

There are 15 year-old statues in this hobby with imperfect paint apps or soft sculpts that still evoke the spirit of the characters better than any of the hyper-detailed stuff that's out today. It would be nice if this Rex had those high fidelity details as well (seeing as it's 2023 and not 2008), but its personality alone makes it a winner for me. I can't deny it looks fantastic on display. Not gimmicky or contrived for our benefit, just a classy piece that looks like it's about to walk off the shelf and do its own thing.

I'd still probably sell it if ECC makes a great Buck (I have no need for two Rexes), but if that doesn't happen, I'd be more than happy to be left with this one.

Interesting, went ahead and did a poll on my IG and I have to agree. Elite's is a cool piece but I just don't see "rexy" on it. Wasn't surprised, tbh, to see that the 1/35 from w-dragon won. W-dragon killed this little piece. P.s. this one is custom painted but I made it clear in the poll to focus on sculpt.

The piece looks great! I guess the only I would say is the the stripe on the middle of her back is too fat probably should've been 2 stripes but that's not a massive deal. Too me what makes the piece special is it feels the most Stan Winston of any Jurassic Piece ever done regardless of if it feels like the final design (to be fair even in the movies the design changes from shot to shot).

But it genuinely feels like the piece genuinely could've been used during the production of the movie and came out of SWS and that makes it special for me.
