Does food taste different at different times?
I can't eat pancakes for dinner. The syrup is just to sweet. I also can't eat bagels with cream cheese for dinner - I think it tastes horrible
But oddly - I eat both of these things for breakfast! And I love them! Is it just me or does food taste different at different times of the day?

Food can taste differently in all sorts of different contexts. For example, I don't much care for hot dogs, unless I'm at a ballgame, where they taste awesome. I buy that exact same brand, cook it on the grill at home, with the same toppings, and I'm completely underwhelmed.
Taste is completely subjective, and always changing. This is the same reason why you can like a food, but then if you get sick off of it at some point, it doesn't taste good to you anymore. The food hasn't changed; your brain's connection between that food and being sick has changed your perception of it.

we have breakfast for dinner every once in a while, the kids love it. But it definitely tastes different than in the morning.

I agree atmosphere can totally add to or take away from certain foods. It's a trick of the mind really, I think the food "tastes" the same, however the frame of mind is completely different.

Nothing tastes better then going to a diner late at night after a concert and ordering breakfast.
