Crap, I hadn't heard. Oh well. Getting so sick of these uncut/extended editions being released so far apart from the initial release. Straight up bait and switch cash grab by the studios. Had I know this I'd have skipped this release because I'm very much against this practice and rarely guilty of double dipping.

Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

Yeah, I posted it in the movie thread when they let it slip a couple months ago but probably should have put it here, too. Getting real sick of the double dips, at least this time we heard about it beforehand.

At least with the extended cut of The Wolverine it was released at the same time as the regular. I guess we should expect this with Fox going forward.

Looks like the pre-BF sales are beginning. This this usual annual tricking people into biting early that Amazon does. I will just wait until the actual BF sales and get some of these even cheaper, at least I hope so. That's how it usually has worked in past years. Anyway...

Amazing Spider-Man 2- $14.99
Godzilla- $14.99
X-Men DOFP-$ 14.99

Tempted to grab Godzilla but... you're right. Makes sense to wait.

Yeah, I know, I was tempted right away by ASM2 and Godzilla since both are at "the right price" for me. But, I must be strong and wait a few more weeks.

It was these kinds of retail policies that got me out of buying movies altogether. I used to spend serious cash on DVD/BluRay, but eventually all the double dipping and cash grab business tactics ran thier course. I stopped buying movies altogether for a number of years. Now I only buy films that have been on the market for at least a year and I wait for big sales like Black Friday. I would estimate the overall cost average on my last 50 Blu Ray purchases would be 4-5 bucks each. Just got so sick of the greedy business tactics by movie studios. I will admit, it was really hard at first, but as time went on it got easier and easier. Now it doesnt even phase me. When I see a film I want on Blu ray, I just sit back and wait. They all drop in price eventually.

I know i'm late to the show with a response.

However i did indeed read about this. Just recently picked up the 'HMV exclusive' of DOFP here in the U.K, i wonder if they do a Steelbook for the Extended Cut?

Double Dipping does suck sometimes!!!
