On a totally unrelated note, I wish if they would have taken just one thing from the Governor and his crew I would have taken calling them "Biters" instead of "Walkers". Much cooler name.

I mean I get why they might not want to take a relatively normal and ordered society that is well defensed and efficient but how can you pass on an obvious improvement on that name?

I never said they "have to" call them "walkers", just because of the show; it was more of a smart-ass response.

To be serious though, I disagree with your opinion that "biters" is cooler. I also don't think it's more fitting than "walker" either. 99% of a "walker's" day is spent...walking. The most astonishing basic fact about the dead is the fact that they're...walking around, not the fact that they also happen to bite.

Pretty pointless tangent, but those are my thoughts anyway.

The phrase "the Walking Dead" actually doesn't (didn't) refer to the zombies at the genesis of the property, it refers to the survivors trying to live through a hopeless situation. Rick refers to the group as such in one of the first few issues in the series in an exploration/exposition of the property.

Also in the comics they are primarily referred to as 'roamers'.
