Going back to the days of Sideshow being our only source of buying 1/4 Marvel & DC statues isn't appealing to me at all. I'm still waiting on a 1/4 Martian Manhunter and XM already teased the character. I certainly won't be holding my breath for sideshow to release one. I hope XM can get their act together. I like more competition. I think it's better for collectors.
Exactly.
I don't have many XM but very much liked these kind of statues that made XM big.
Yes price was quite high leap (compared to sideshow) but some very nice designs, fully sculpted and combined with good overall quality. Plus pretty quick in release times compared to some other companies made up for it.

I don't understand this kind of negativity.

Agree, last couple of yrs some strange tuck & pull happened (combined with the covid period) and we are paying for all of it.
Also wholesale(s) and other middleman gained too much influence over the sales and price process.

BUT if XM is going under, it is 100% their own fault. they were great and had great communication with the fans, but success went to their head, they thought they were too big to fail and the mob, who should feel lucky to buy their products, were below them.
Im the opposite tbh.
I don't and never did like the samurai sauce over many of their statues last few yrs. I feel XM chose this route to keep licensing costs as low as possible. But i didnt feel any connection with these kind of designs even when details and quality still was very good (XM Penguin Daimyo comes to mind).

Last few statues XM luckily went back to producing also more classic designs. But not communicating about things that matter and/or releasing products (esp. last two yrs) is wrong business.
