Gemma Arterton is growing on me... and can I just point out that her neckline in that poster is rather fetching?
Yes... yes, it is; indeed.
Just saw that Famke Janssen is also in this movie... so an Avenger, an X-Men, and an Immortal are in the house.

What I loved about H&G is that it never takes itself too seriously, but doesn't venture into the farcical either. Similar dark but fun vibe to Sleepy Hollow IMO.

As much as I enjoy Kristin Bell, even she couldn't save this flick. While her hubby (the star, screenwriter, director, and editor - believe it or not) may have some potential, this flick only showed glimpses of it.

I'm not sure anything could save this movie. It was like the very worst talkie bits of Death Proof

Skyfall 6/10
Hmmm, not sure how to classify this one, I wouldn't say its a bad film at all, but it wasn't amazing either. I think the hype ruined it a little for me as I had very high hopes. I've heard many people saying this is the best bond ever, I for one had more fun watching casino royal, Goldeneye, The world is not enough and that's just the ones off the top of my head. I think I will wait a few months and give this another viewing. I like the idea of a more personal Bond film but this didn't achieve that to the extent I was expecting, again expectations getting in the way maybe.

Anna Karenina (2012) 8/10 beautiful. Great cast. An original filming style, that is kind of abandoned in the middle, but picks back up at the end. The musical score is amazing.

The Impossible 6/10
The film tries so hard to make audiences care for the characters as it builds up to emotional moments but they had zero impact. It was a shallow attempt from almost everyone involved, Naiomi Watts being the only exception.

The Big Lebowski 5/10
Never seen it before, heard good things, had a free weekend of movie channels, finally got around to watching...
Really did not enjoy it. A couple of funny/interesting parts, but seemed rather long and kind of boring.

Mmm mmm mmm Gemma Artherton oh my lordy! She was just stunning in the movie. You would have done the same thing as that nerd. The weapons and the costumes were top notch in that movie, the rest is all good ole popcorn time.

Flight 8/10 Much more of a drama than I initially expected as Denzel does a decent job of playing an alcoholic pilot.
Sinister 7.5/10 A few creepy moments but mostly standard horror fare.
Taken 2 8/10 Not as good as the original imo but entertaining for a single viewing.

Dredd - 8.5/10
I've done my share of pimpin' for this film. Yeah, I love it. They truly did Dredd justice here. If you don't like this film then I guess you just don't like this character. This is my kind of action pic. No nonsense, in your face, pull no punches... you get the idea. Excellent Blu-ray too. Really hoping the success it has found on video makes up for the lackluster box office performance and we get those sequels writer Alex Garland teased us with.
