I gave these a whirl too. Probably knock off or original items that were not accepted by the QC dept. As long as they don't arrive in pieces, they should be ok to display.

They're probably resin recasts - there are sites who make these unapologetically and sell them as either bootlegs or garage kits. It's worth a try at least. If you guys get something half decent I might try it myself - but I wanna see if it justifies having to go to the post office to pick them up  )

I figured most of the people who are on this forum only desire true actual production pieces, which is what most collectors desire. What's the point of having a fake recast that is likely going to look horrible?
