Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

Agreed.

It amazes me how something is automatically "better" to some when all they have seen is a pic of a proto that is a year+ away from being in their hands. If what ships looks like the proto, then we can talk.

Yes, value goes up and down with collectibles. With so many statue companies out there I can't see prices go sky high like they have been in the past.

I can only image how wonderful will be the klassic collection when we will add Jade and Mileena, hope soon, and then Liu Kang and Raiden! without considering all the others that will come.

I've seen them all in person (except Reptile), they're perfect representations of the characters but nowhere near the level of the 1:3 versions.
This is it right there.

Imagine they were both up at the same time and prices were equal.

How many people would want and actually both?
How many people would want the 1/3?
How many people would want the 1/4?

Easy answer.

Yes they are different in many ways but they are still competitors.

eh imo the ninjas really were not that impressive so I can see why they have gone down so drastically. Reptile was going for like... $1200 now he's at 600 to 700.

None of these have the "hand sculpted by Jerry himself" hype either. Everything in the klassic line is digital. Goro is on a whole different level than the Ninjas, he is freaking amazing and 1 of a kind.

I am glad I sold my ninjas when I did and made the profit I did.

What did sub go for on eBay that brought this topic back up?

I don't know about the ebay one but I just sold my Sub EX for $350 shipped yesterday. I had it listed for $370-400 for a month or more and no one bit until I dropped it to 350.

I don't have reason to doubt about it. Received Goro just a couple weeks ago and he's flawless. Really, all the recent PCS releases in the last two years or so came out pretty much like the proto.
For the 1:3 line, Jerry said he wanted to put extra care into it - so I have exactly 0 reasons to believe that what I preordered will not come out as it should.
Also, just throw in that MK characters (differently than SF characters, for now) have been made in double versions (Klassic and moderns), other than in 1:3 scale. When there is more choice on the market for the same characters, chances are that prices will set accordingly.
And now we have MK9 Scorpion and Sub Zero, Klassic Ninjas, MKX Ninjas already teased plus 1:3 Scopr and Subz on their way. That's A LOT of choice and surely relfects on the selling prices due to a simple fact of demand and offer.

I'm sure they will have more value in the future when the line will be bigger. The Klassic Ninjas are really great but i have to say the Exs are really important here : different heads and hands.
Of course the price drops because of the 1/3 but you will see when Mileena, Jade, Raiden, ... will be out. Lot will want to complete the set => the demand will be bigger.
