I would imagine there'd be a certain amount of prepping once the fabric was removed. It looks like the musculature on these is somewhat exaggerated in order to show up beneath the cloth costumes; I wouldn't think you'd be able to see Hal's navel through his costume so that'd have to be filled in along with any other sharp muscle definitions. Also, the costume itself would then have to be sculpted/scribed onto the de-robed figure as well.

Just kicking around possible customizing ideas, but depending on what comes out of the box may render these thoughts moot.

There's a full 360 turnaround for this statue on the DC Direct site. It might help you get a better sense of what the statue looks like until you can see one in person.

Thanks for the 360˚ link, Professor. That pretty much proves my point that the initial photo wasn't the most flattering. And the costume looks good, too. Can't wait for this one to grace my shelf.

Thanks for the raw sculpt pic Tobor! I was very skeptical about this one, even though I already pre-ordered. My first thought on viewing this one was that his calves looked mutated, but I put it off as a bad pic. Ray Villafane is awesome and I have a couple of his Bowen pieces. I dont want to miss out on another GL sculpt as I missed out on the GL vs. Sinestro a couple of years ago, and I still kick myself for not getting it at the time
I think all skepticism will be put aside (myself included) when this one comes out and we can see one in person. Also, Ch'p is removable, so I will be displaying him in my kids room!

i might do the same. have the costume sculpted on and it'll give you room to work with paints you like.

would be nice if DC redid superman and batman again at this scale since love to do the same characters over and over again.
