Agreed. Let's not forget that most critics, including many members of this forum, were not fans of the casting of Gadot initially. Now, everyone is singing her praises. Let's just wait and see.

From a build perspective I was worried. She still could add some mass, but honestly she embodied the characters grace so well the fact her eyes were a different color seemed a minor issue in comparison.

Not everyone. She was merely serviceable, IMO.

I agree, she was much better than I expected but still not the perfect choice for me.

The choices were Gadot, Olga Kurylenko, and Elodie Yung. They went with the tallest and the one who had military training.

I thought the same about Kristen Wiig as well but I remembered how everyone was questioning when Michael Keaton was chosen to play Batman and that turned out very well.
I could maybe see Rachel McAdams in the role (I always thought she would have been a better Lois Lane choice than Amy Adams). I could see Emily Blunt or Charlize Theron as well.

Gal still wouldnt be my first choice for wonder woman but I will admit she was better than I thought she'd be, for me its her charisma and accent that sells it, physically I think shes still too skinny and not thick enough to play wonder woman, but it could have been a lot worse as well
the only comic book movie casting I'll admit I was 100% so wrong about was Heath as Joker, I was so dead set against that and he seriously rocked my world, best joker ever, other than that most casting choices I thought would be bad end up being bad, at least in my opinion of course

Heath got me as well, I also questioned RDJ so you never really know until you see it.

RDJ is maybe the only example of flawless casting I've seen in super heroes. There have been some strong ones across the board, but no other character yet I cannot imagine being recast (I'm sure it will happen eventually).

It has to, he's looking pretty old these days lol
I think Letitia Wright assumes the mantle.
