Third highest grossing movie ever and with those sorts of figures a few $10 mil's tend to justify themselves, but I do agree that introducing a few other characters, played by lower paid actors, could save a few quid if it ever becomes required.

That is a lot of money for a character that is likely going to have reduced screen time in the next film (just the math of adding the requisite new Avenger or two plus obligatory boost for the Hulk).
I wonder if this isn't a multi picture deal. I can't imagine that they are going to pay her 13 million a piece for potential "Black Widow and Hawkeye" or "S.H.I.E.L.D." movies.

It maybe a multi movie deal but I don't think she is in IM3. Maybe CA 2? Unlikely to be in Thor. Also possible that a Shield movie is happening.

What big movies has she really done just wondering. This is like the biggest part shes has had. She is more famous because of her looks which are nice but a lot of women look good and are able to poke their lips and but out. Isnt this the first well second counting IM2 movie that she has been in that made money? The Prestige while great had no great BO return and they could of put any one in the part she played. What the Island The Spirit maybe eight legged freaks I am just really wondering How many women actully think she is great. I liked her in the part but she is is not a note worthty actress she is not even close to any of the others surrounding her in the movie so not worth more then them by a long one.

Me, too. The problem is, there have not been any teasers leading up to any new characters.
I would love to see Vision or Ant-Man/Giant-Man but how would you explain their sudden appearance, and with those powers? But that didn't stop the X-Men, with new mutants popping up in every movie--but then it was established that mutants exist and that's Cerebro at work.
Maybe Black Panther?

All depends on what your definition of "big" is? Her body of work is quite impressive and she's worked with some of the most well renowned Directors in the business. Her role in Avengers comparively speaking is actually rather small. No question in my mind she is a bonified movie star and one of the most recognizable actresses working today.
