Prices written on the art

Any of you have these? Pages with the price actually written on the front of the page. I HATE that. It's so tacky. I was able to erase the prices written on mine, but you can still kinda see it. On the back isn't a big deal, but on the front? Man, I hate that.

Anther thing I've noticed is several DPSs with the tape on the front of the pages! Right on top of the inks! What gives with that? I haven't bought one like that, but I've seen several. That just kills me. What if you go to remove the tape and it pulls some of the paper and art with it? Why would anyone wanna do that?

Yeah, there's no real focus to this topic, but I thought a new thread was needed here.

Prices and tape on the FRONT of artwork?? Man, I've never seen that. On the back, sure, but never the front. That would actually keep me from buying something to be honest.

It makes me cringe as well and I usually pass on the art unless I love the piece

I know! Check this out. It's up at Anthony Snyder's. It's a great piece with the freakin tape right on the art. WTF!

I've seen this on other pieces too.

i've purchased eight or nine Cassaday Planetary pages, and they all have prices lightly penciled in the top corners of the margins. they're easily eraseable, if i choose to do so, but i've left them for posterity at this point. it doesn't bother me at all, because i know i can erase the mark easily, and it would be covered by a matte or a frame quite easily when the time comes.

as far as tape goes, that's pretty lame. if it was a page i wanted i would make the seller remove it, it i was interested in and i would only purchase it if he could take it off w/o damaging the piece.

Take a look at the panel in the middle with the arrow. You can see the masking tape holding the pages together

The remark in the lower left corner is nice though

I've never seen a 2 page splash taped on the front of the art like that. I've always seen it on the back of the pages.

That's just stupid.
