Adding New Sculpey to baked Sculpey

Hows it going guys. Been inspired by the masters on this site for a while. Messed around with some clay first just to get a feel for it. Finally decided to boil a head i made but didn't add hair. Figured i would just add it after so i don't ruin any detail in the face. Long story short. Can I add new sculpey firm to previously cured sculpey firm? or will it just cure and fall off?

Apply a little vaseline to the cured Sculpey and fresh Sculpey will adhere to it.

I personally use Johnson's baby oil, it works wonderfully.
