I mentioned detolfs only because another display case very similar was mentioned, and think the Detolf is still better.
I am looking for something with more room like the BESTA or something else...
Last last case you posted a pic of is beautifull though...

Did you see this one? Kind of like a BESTA brother

Shame they don't make them in black.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

No Detolfs for me either. Several months back, I had a case made similar in dimensions to the one you just posted. But it had four sides, same height and depth, but a bit longer. I also went with thicker glass, a lock, light, and delivery...came to $750.
I researched alot of cases that were really nice. But shipping was a b!tch. Some of them were crate shipped to your sidewalk and that was it. Definitely a good thing if you can find a local source to get these made.

MALM
Width: 15 7/8 "
Depth: 18 7/8 "
DETOLF
Width: 16 3/4 "
Depth: 14 3/8 "

It does give it a hefty bump, but a much needed one. I find the level the MALM brings it to is PERFECT for displaying purposes

Yup, getting it local is always best.
My dream case would be a wall built one, covering all four walls of a room, all lighted up inside . If a move from where I'm now, I will plan to make something like that

Yup, it's just like the BESTA, with "wood" covering the side walls. But with more vertical space and glass shelvs inside.
Hopefully they will offer it in black at some point.

I dont understand why black/brown isn't a staple when they first release stuff..it's always "white" and "beech", yet everyone wants a black one! lol

Nice LOTR helms there!
Yeah if you are displaying it like that with items on top, you may have a problem if you use the MALM.
My setup doesn't allow for any display pieces to sit ontop of the DETOLF (too close to the ceiling).
