i might be getting one but not at launch. Usually wait until there is a good 5-10 games I want for a system before diving in. Likely grab it when it drops in price or when they create a "slim" model or whatever they're going to call the eventual revision
my iTouch is filling my portable gaming fix for now and when I'm at home I have my 360 anyway

I was never a fan of the PSP & thought of it as a failure.
I just don't get why SONY introduces a new system based off something that didn't do well for them.
They need to do something about the price for the memory cards. Buying a Vita with a 32G card costs more than a PS3. Not worth it IMO.

I want one but the price of the memory cards is going to hold me back. I can see a slow launch like in Japan happening, causing Sony to drop prices on the system like Nintendo did with their 3DS.

I am getting a vita. I can't decide between the wifi or 3G.
Does anyone know the data rates for the 3G model?

I think the 3G version will have to go through AT&T, so I'd expect @ least a $25/month bill.
Do I really want to pay $300+tax a year to play a VITA? NOPE!

the PSP to date has sold over 72 million consoles worldwide...that is a failure? The PSP is actually much more popular in Asia/Japan than it is in North America
The only thing that was a failure in terms of the PSP for Sony was the PSP Go

I'll probably get one after a price drop and different revision. I rarely get launch systems anymore. Especially launch portable systems.
Also, it's time for Nintendo or Sony to make something that is a phone as well. I assume (hope) the 3G Vita can do Skype or something. But I haven't researched it.

Compare that to Nintendo's numbers & the only reason why the PSP had any success in Japan was due to Monster Hunter.
How are those UMD movies doing?

Best bet is to give it a couple months and see what the market and consumers dictate. As well as see what kind of problems pop up.
