Cross country skiing is great if you live in a small country.

LMAO - Sideshow pieces are rarely that robust.

It is not the responsibility of the consumer to dispute the harmonized code that CBSA has enforced ssc to use.

Obviously there is an issue here if PCS is allowed to use the right harmonized code when ssc is not right?
I sent two emails to FedEx for two different pieces asking them to change the HC to a more relevant code. I gave them the code number and the reasons why the new code was more appropriate. They responded that they had forwarded my request to Brokerage. I am yet to receive a response despite two reminders to them. I wonder if the lack of response is a reflection of their feelings that it's between SS and CBSA?

The next question is, where you charged duty with that code?

These whole thing is a mess. Sideshow should not listen to CBSA as they are wrong to begin with. What a fiasco!

I wonder what would happen to Sideshow if they simply were to just ignore the CBSA. Do they fear the CBSA flagging every shipment of theirs?

$25,000 fine I believe. Not sure if that's per incident.

You'd think there were enough Canadian customers for Sideshow to open up a warehouse here.

Would certainly makes things a lot simpler for all of us "North of the border" - both tax AND shipping wise.

I mentioned this in the other thread. I believe the precipitous for all of this was the Canadian government auditing Canadian SS dealers.

That's what I heard the same from a local retailer as well.
