While on YouTube today, a thumbnail appeared of what i thought was a new Fantastic Four movie starring Margot Robbie in the works.

It's a deepfake clip. Given what it is, it looks impressive (most of the time).

With results that good i wonder how long it will be before statue companies adopt deepfake AI to generate
3D data for the sculptors to make use of?

We're probably 10-15 years away from the movie industry collapsing, as people will be able to generate their own tailor-made movies. No more being force-fed what a studio wants to sell you.

Can't wait to replace Disney's sequel trilogy with something that makes sense.

this stuff does have scary implications for the world though, so many people are already so damn gullible in what they choose to believe what do we think is going to happen when we have video "proof" showing some insidious thing by a group or person they already hate.

Yup, thinking of stuff like that and plenty of others frequently. The world is going to fundamentally change. Just about every aspect of life will be affected.

AI doesn't need to directly kill us for it to have a profoundly negative effect.

But maybe, the world becomes simpler again. If video can't be believed, then people may not watch it any more (at least expecting it to be real). People will only trust what they see live. Presidential candidates will travel around, stumping like the 1800s. No more recorded performances by "real" actors. Just live, touring shows. ? Who knows.

AI is already being used for fun stuff like putting Arnold in every movie or listening to the presidents rank all the Mario games. We all know what's coming next. The uhh... adult stuff.

Yep, that's been concerning me for some time. Society already can't agree on basic facts, which is a huge problem, and then make it even more difficult to discern fake from reality...yay!
