Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 - What Crap!
I'll admit I haven't picked this up.
Spoilers.
http://www.newsarama.com/29456-brevo...-the-face.html
But, what crap.
This is worse than One More Day or whatever it was called. Yes, this is a slap in the face. Maybe it is just a gimmick but, if not, well, what crap.
And I'll echo the sentiments in this article, as well. Let Cap be Cap.

Of course Steve Rogers will go back to being the real Captain America at the end of this story arc, but I can't be bothered to see how it gets there. Pass.

This is an insult to the character's history and the legacy of his creators. Oh, and do it in Cap's anniversary year too while you're at it. Nothing celebrates such a significant anniversary as sh*tting on your own character Marvel!
And it's stupid too. First, they chose to do it when Cap has become one of Marvel's most prominent characters in the eyes of the general public thanks to the Marvel movies. This will get a lot of media attention that will just confuse these recent "fans". Second, it alienates long-time readers. It's lazy writing/editing, when dealing with a 75th anniversary for example, to take the approach of contradicting everything that's come previously during those celebrated 75 years.
No thanks.
And to heighten my comic-nerdom, explain how Cap lifted Mjolnir, Marvel!!!!!

Bought the first issue yesterday and haven't read it yet, but the twist made headlines and really disappointed. Not sticking with the series. No support from me. Just bring back Fantastic Four!!!

You know what, when I first read a headline about a new development with Capt America I assumed he was going to turn out to be homosexual or a visible minority or vegan or something... so this doesn't really upset me lol

Nazi, okay, but please don't make Cap a homosexual! Or worse, a vegan!!
I know what you meant--it just sounded funny, the way it was written.
