I like everything about the statue with the exception of the likeness. I think this is the worst likeness on a Weta statue since they reacquired the LOTR licence. Very disappointing, especially since it's the only Haldir statue we're likely to ever see.

Probably because it looks nothing like Craig Parker. Weta would have been better off calling this the Helm's Deep Elven Warrior or the Craig Parker Stunt Double as Haldir statue.

Portrait definitely needs to look a little more full so it's throwing the likeness off for sure. That said I don't think it's bad, it could just be better. Still an easy order for me as I don't expect perfection in that category. No question who it is as far as I'm concerned. Love the detail in the armor, the pose and overall presence of the piece.

Regretfully, this one's a pass for me. The days of me paying good money (in this instance $400-$450 plus shipping) for movie-related characters that don't have a strong resemblance to the actor in question are long gone. All the more frustrating since this is a character I've wanted for 15+ years, and because Weta has shown themselves more than capable of accurately capturing likenesses in recent years.
To me, this statue is reminiscent of the dark SSW years when Gandalf, Aragorn, and Legolas didn't even remotely look like Sir Ian, Viggo, or Orlando. In fairness to the original SSW statues, they were significantly cheaper than today's statues, and the Weta artists back then didn't have access to the ZBrush 3D software that has made excellent likenesses not only a reality, but the norm.
On a positive note, this statue might just make it to next years BF sale......something I never would have said two days ago.

Harsh words man. I hear ya on the price vs expectations. That said I don’t think the likeness is anywhere near the level of the old SSW humans/elves. Those pieces just looked bad. This still has a passing likeness and everything else looks amazing. These pics might not be helping this one much either. In hand may look much better.

What can I say? No one was looking forward to this statue more than I was, but I have to call a spade a spade. And in this case, I don't even remotely see Craig Parker in this sculpt. And based on some of the reactions I've seen elsewhere I'm not the only one. Love the detailing of the sculpt, love the pose, hate the face....Hell, they couldn't even get the color of his eyebrows right.
As for waiting for in hand photo's.....that statement is usually the kiss of death for a statue. Yes, in hand photo's can make a bad statue look a bit better, but they can't save a bad statue. A poor likeness is a poor likeness and no amount of in hands photo's is going to change that. Can you even remember the last time that line was used in reference to a Weta statue?....I can't.
