"Apocalypse...Now!"
Whoa! Any fan of the Superman Animated Series remember this two-part story? My sons and I have been watching these episodes sequentially and just got to this one. My thirteen year old commented that, from the art to the music to the story, it felt more like a TV movie than a simple cartoon. What an incredible story and the finale with Turpin, whom Dini and Timm said they modeled after Jack Kirby, and then tribute/dedication to Kirby at the end, just left my sons and I silent for a coupld of seconds.
Not your standard TV animation fare at all.

That was a great episde, wktf! Especially the part where Superman full of rage pounds Darkseid's tank into the ground so hard that the city shakes while the whole city just stares and observes his grief. One of the best cartoons from that entire series.

I haven't seen many of the Superman animated series as you can't get region 2 boxsets over here. time for imports methinks, especially since there is an episode with a certain Kyle Rayner fighting Sinestro.

Funny, I just finished watching Superman: Brainiac Attacks for the first time and it was plain awful.
Makes me really miss seeing a Bruce Timm animated series on the air.
