I own this statue and I must say its great. One of my favorites. The ring may be wrong but the sculpt is oh so right and not too mention its well painted.

Agree it's a nice sculpt but the ring's a pretty important thing to get right, seems to me.

The ring is small and placed quite hidden behind/ beside the lantern, so it doesn't distract me too much.

It'll be perfect if the they give him the right ring, but until then i am quite content with this statue

the ring is corect.
this is alanscotts ring. it is a mini train lantern on a ring and very bulky as you can see in the second pick.

this is the traditional ring we are used to seeing on hal

but as you see here it is drawn this way also and this is the ring on his finger. sure the first ring looks better but the statue is comic accurate

and no that isnt just one pic. use google image and you will find equal amounts of pics with hals ring in both styles

Ha, so the "ring debate" on this statue has no merit.

@Hawkeyethearcher = Thank you for your cystal clear explanation.

It's a relief that the ring on the statue is 100% comic accurate.

...even though it's not drawn this way 100% of the time in comics, apparently.

The most common way Hal's ring is drawn is with the lantern icon within a circle, going all the way back to Gil Kane's initial drawings. True, it's been drawn other ways as shown above but, to me, this is the correct way to draw his ring.

I didn't bring this up to argue because, ultimately, people are happy with statues for their own reasons and it's all a matter of personal taste. In fact, I asked the question because I'd heard the ring on this statue wasn't accurate but didn't know for sure. My preference is for the ring to be in the way it's most commonly drawn, the traditional way hawkeyethearcher points out.

I agree with that statement. Kane designed the costume and his ring was always round with the battery design inside the circle. It was after he stopped drawing GL that new designs began being thrown about willy-nilly.
